Original work designed by Sam Baron and produced by the Grand Palais workshops in 2024, using the famous drapery of the left arm of the Apollo Belvedere (Vatican Museums, inventory no.: 0077660 / Louvre Museum, 19th-century plaster cast: Gy 0258, made by an Italian workshop for the École des Beaux-Arts).
Sam Baron, a French designer, notably headed the design department at Fabrica in Treviso, Italy, the communication research laboratory of the Benetton Group. In 2009, he received the Grand Prix de la Création de la Ville de Paris in the established designer category and was named in 2010 by Philippe Starck as one of the most important designers of the decade. He created a reinterpretation of the medallion chair for Dior Maison, presented at the Milan Furniture Fair in 2021, and collaborates with Pierre Frey. He was recently commissioned to design a stationery collection for the Louvre Museum boutiques. He now lives and works in Portugal.
